In 1980, DiMaggio was named the Essex County Player of the Year for his prolific pitching. After high school that same year, DiMaggio played professional baseball for the Essex Orioles of the Essex County Professional League from 1981 to 1983. DiMaggio compiled a 3-1 record as a and went on to spend 10 years pitching in semi-professional leagues. He also played in Europe with a number of former Major League players.

DiMaggio was a scout for the Baltimore Orioles in the early 2000s and worked under Rick Peterson, a former pitcher for the Pittsburgh Pirates, pitching coach for the Oakland Athletics, New York Mets and Milwaukee Brewers and current Director of Pitching Development for the Orioles.

Along with his exceptional baseball career, DiMaggio is also a member of the MLB Players Alumni Association and Baseball America.

“Our players range from division one to Junior college and are all New Jersey natives,” DiMaggio said. “These kids play on college teams that range as far south as Memphis, Tennessee to our own New Jersey backyards.”

The second outstanding addition, the Clemente Baseball Club, will take the field this summer led by General Manager and coach, CJ Hendricks. Hendricks has coached in the ABCCL the past two seasons for the Jackson Thunder and Medford and is also currently the head baseball coach at South Brunswick High School. The team is comprised of mostly Middlesex, Mercer and Somerset natives and is based out of South Brunswick.

In 2012, his senior season, Capuano was 2-1 with 22 strikeouts in 27 innings for the Lions, finishing his career with a 5-3 collegiate record. Following graduation, Capuano joined Gallagher Baseball Academy as a pitching instructor. Gallagher Baseball was founded by nine-year Major Leaguer and N.J. native, Dave Gallagher. It is an organization that stresses player development. Capuano is currently a coach at Princeton High School.

After graduating high school, Fedorko played at Wagner College in Staten Island N.Y. in 2011 before transferring to Mercer County Community College in West Windsor Township, N.J. At Mercer in 2012, Fedorko batted .360 with three home runs and 28 RBIs.

Joining Capuano and Fedorko on the coaching staff is Carlos Hendricks, CJ’s father. Carlos played collegiate baseball at Rutgers University-New Brunswick and has coached locally for over 30 years with multiple baseball organizations including South Brunswick High School and Middle School in Monmouth, N.J.

“Overall it is a very competitive atmosphere,” Hendricks said. “There are a lot of teams in the league, and we look forward to being a part of it. For us as a new team, our goal is to just go out there and compete and hopefully make a run at the playoffs.”
